Two stars might be a little low, but I have to keep it real here. In my quest for the best thin crust pizza, Happy Stefano's came in third place out of three pizzerias so far (or second if we're only talking about the beach). Technically, this is a NY style pizza. But it's got too much cheese and sauce lopped on it to be the true NY thin crust style pizza (Totonno's, for example). Unlike the new Chicago Pizza up the street, Happy Stefano's gets props for offering slices. And it is a tasty slice, but it has some issues. For one, when I got it, the slice had already been generously salted and peppered. I didn't ask for either one and thought that was a little strange, but I let it slide. The bigger issue was all that cheese overpowering the thin crust, making it a slippery, gooey mess. You know when a slice gets so soggy it can't be folded in half without ripping and oozing all over the place? It was like that -- and this was a slice of plain, not even any toppings. If you like fork and knife pizza, you may not care. It's just not my thing. Bottom line: I'll give it another shot sometime, but I'm in no big hurry thanks to some of the other options I've found.
